Shadowpurr-r-rPress is the Branding Publisher of a new line of "Genealogy Books" by Author Alice G. Duckett, designed to help children learn "Geneaology from the Ground Up"... ! The first book in the Series is "Digging from Attics to Basements" - a how-to book on compiling Family History. Shadowpurr-r-rPress received it's name by way of "Shadowpurr" - the "Writing cat" owned by the Author.
The books encourage children and families to work together to discover their family history through activities that connect families and strengthen children’s self-esteem and identity. By searching for family history, kids learn to appreciate their older family members and find out who they came from and where, when, why, and how. They build a strong connection to family and strengthen their own self-esteem and identity. The book also helps children to utilize and strengthen many skills needed in school and for life – reading, writing, organizing, planning, interviewing, storytelling, art and more.

The Shadowpurr Author
As an Educator with 31 years of teaching experience, The Shadowpurr-r-rPress Author worked mostly in Marshall County, Albertville City School Systems of Alabama, and Pensacola, Florida. I have published over 300 articles, features and columns in newspapers and magazines including The Gadsden Times, The Sand Mountain Reporter, The Tribune News, The Islander, The Island Chronicle, Transitions Abroad Travel Magazine, Alabama Wildlife Magazine, Alabama Conservation Magazine, and The Christian Advocate. Alice has had the privilege of winning 10 writing awards in competitions around the Southeast. I have been an editor for writing organizations such as the Council of Writers/Journalists and several professional teacher organization newsletters.
