 Shadowpurr-r-rPress is the Branding Publisher of How-to Books on compiling Family Histories by Alice G. Duckett, Founder & Author. Shadowpurr-r-rPress received its name by way of "Shadow", a "Writing Cat", owned by the Author.

Alice G. Duckett is available to Speak at Schools, Libraries, Churches, Clubs, Senior Centers, Family Reunions, Genealogy Societies, Book Signings, Children Events and Writer Conferences. Alice participated at 50 Events in 2007, 52 Events in 2008, 50 Events in 2009, and 2010 is no exception as she's staying busy with many engagements.
The Programs, created for both Children and Adults, are Lively, Creative, Interesting and Fun, varying from 30 minutes to 1 hour in length, and Workshops for Children or In-Service Programs for Teachers from 1-2 hours.
Many know Alice as her character, "Miss Allie" ! In addition to the Programs, Alice wears costumes to fit the theme of the programs with presentations from a Victorian Lady to a Sherlock Holmes-style Detective, a French Character-Madame DuQuette to an American Indian costume, to her Safari outfit complete with jungle hardhat, magnifying glass and butterfly net. As the "Man in the Yellow Hat", "Miss Allie" wears... what else? A yellow suit and tall hat with high boots and, of course, Curious George the monkey puppet accompanies her.

Sept. 2008 - May 2009... Calhoun County Alabama school children search for their Family History this year in a special "In-School Project" through their Gifted Program. More than 160 students of teacher, Dr. Wanda Duckett, are participating in 4 schools. Alice G. Duckett speaks to some of the kids about the basics of looking for clues in the puzzle to discovering Family History. Each child has a copy of Alice's book, "Digging From Attics To Basements", for the Research and Writing Project. At the end of the school year each student will have his own completed book of Family History.
